A woman who pretended to be a Swedish model online to entrap two men into helping her kill Belfast police officers, has been jailed for 16 years.

Christine Connor, who is 31, previously pleaded guilty to six charges, including throwing a grenade at a police vehicle in 2013.

Police have described the woman as a "lone wolf, dissident republican"

She pretended to be a blond-haired Swedish model online to lure men into helping with her plot to kill PSNI officers.

Fake profile 

Connor used a fake social media account to trick a man from England into helping her make grenades which she threw at police officers.

She lured Stuart Downes, from Shrewsbury, into her terror plot by using the fake account, which had a fake name and a photo of Swedish model Sanne Alexandra Andersson.

She also lured Zachary Gevelinger from the US into helping her after befriending him online through her fake identity.

Dept Supt Richard Campbell, said Christine Connor "is a highly dangerous and cunning woman who exploited others to further her own twisted ideology."

A police officer who was targeted by Connor spoke about her plot. He said himself and his colleague responded to an emergency call from her claiming that she was being attacked back in 2013. 

However, she had made the fake call in a bid to lure officers to the scene in North Belfast, where she was lying in wait with two blast bombs.
