An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car in Dublin earlier today.
The female pedestrian and a car collided on the Navan Road in Cabra at around 8.15am this morning.
She was taken to the Mater Hospital. Gardaí say she died in hospital.
The male driver of the car was arrested and brought to Finglas Garda Station. The 39-year-old has since been released, and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
The road is closed in both directions and diversions are in place. It is expected to reopen at around 1.30pm.
