A woman has died after being hit by a car in Co Monaghan.
Gardaí in Castleblayney are appealing for witnesses after fatal collision on the N2 at Clonavogy.
It happened shortly after 1.00pm on Saturday.
The female pedestrian, aged 55 years, was struck by a car and was treated by emergency services personnel at the scene.
She was taken by air ambulance to St James's Hospital, Dublin where she was later pronounced dead.
A second male pedestrian, aged 60 years, was also stuck by the car and sustained minor injuries.
The occupants of the car were uninjured.
The road is currently closed to traffic and local diversions are in place.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested to examine the scene - and the coroner has been notified of the death.
