"Bazinga" is known as the catchphrase of The Big Bang Theory's inimitable Dr. Sheldon Cooper, but now two Australian scientists have named a new species of jellyfish after it.
Well, sort of.
Dr Lisa-ann Gershwin, who discovered the new species with her colleague Peter Davie, called it Bazinga rieki because the creature's straight radial canals look sort of a like the strings on a seven-string harp, which is apparently also called a "bazinga".
The grape-sized jellyfish can grow to a maximum of just 15 to 20 millimetres, and might have earlier been mistaken for a younger version of its larger cousins.
What does Dr. Cooper think? We imagine he's pretty excited about the whole thing.
