Parkpnp is an Irish start up that uses under-utilised parking to earn the owner some additional revenue
The range and quality of the startups pitching their businesses at Web Summit has been remarkable. There was a great mix of weird, wonderful and "what the hell is that?" on offer. One company that caught my eye, however, is an Irish firm called Parkpnp.
Parkpnp is a parking tool, that allows individuals, businesses and car park operators to advertise and rent their unused and under-utilised parking to gain additional revenue. Drivers can then search and pre-book a space at carparks, pubs, hotels and private driveways. This is, on average, 50% than other parking options.
"Our vision is to bring parking into the next era. We want to make parking easier for both parking providers and parking users. Additionally we want to decrease congestion in city centres, lower carbon emissions by reducing driving time, and expand the international market for parking to solve parking shortages worldwide," says the Dublin based company.
Using the service is incredibly simple. Download their free app, on iOS or Android, or work from their website. Insert where you'd like to park and on what dates, then pay.
