Minister of State at the Department of Health, and former Labour TD for Cork North Central, Kathleen Lynch, is fairly clear as to why the Government lost the General Election.

The outgoing Junior Minister is sure it’s down to the water charges issue.

In her view, it was the ‘lightning conductor to all the woes they [the electorate] felt they had’.

She was speaking to George on The Right Hook this evening, live from Cork Opera House.

Minister Lynch also gave some insight into who she would be backing for the Labour leadership.

George got her thoughts on a range of other issues, including the current Government talks, and Breda Kevane, a teenage girl in Kerry who has been struggling to get a hospital bed, whose brother spoke to George this week.

You can listen back to the full interview below.
