The sequel is the eighth film in the long-running 'Fast & the Furious Franchise'
Few would have believed that when The Fast and the Furious debuted in cinemas 15 years ago that the film would launch one of the most successful film franchises in history, coming back with a bigger and bolder instalment every time. It’s usual for a movie saga to reach its creative limits by the time its eighth movie is in production, with the biggest stars having moved on to other projects. Not so with The Fate of the Furious, which just added two Oscar-winning actresses to its roster of pedal-pushing talent.
The trailer for the film has just been released online, with Charlize Theron bringing her Furiosa fury to a role that appears to be the latest baddie attempting to bring down the Vin Diesel-led family. Alongside those two, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham both return, with Dame Helen Mirren fulfilling her long-expressed ambition to have a cameo role in the beloved action franchise.
While the trailer doesn’t hold back on revealing a number of significant plot points, we’ll have to wait until April 14th next year to see how things pan out. Take a look at the trailer in full below:
