Vodafone Ireland has announce that it plans to add 60 technology and digital specialists to its business over the next 12-18 months.

The firm has already created 25 new positions in Ireland as it has invested in its IT infrastructure and customer management platforms.

These new positions include IT Architecture, Digital Product Management, UX & Design, Demand Management, and Web and JavaScript Development roles.

Vodafone Ireland expanded to deal with the challenge of meeting customer demand for cloud services and new communication technologies.

Madalina Suceveanu, Chief Technology Officer, Vodafone Ireland said; "Technology is rapidly advancing and technology- rich services and solutions have become an essential part of our customers everyday needs.

"In order to maintain our leadership position and deliver a world-class telecoms infrastructure and a superior product for our customers, we must continue to invest in technology, our digital platforms and in our people."

The company has invested €7m in providing new data centre services for its business and public sector customers in Ireland.

These new jobs will bring Vodafone's total Irish workforce above 2,000.
