Two men are receiving medical treatment following an incident at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin this morning.

A spokesperson for the Prison Service has confirmed an incident took place, in which two prisoners were injured.

Their injuries are described as serious, but not life threatening.

Gardaí say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
