Gardaí have charged two men who were arrested after a loaded gun was found in Ballyfermot in Dublin.

Officers stopped a van on the Kylemore Road on Monday evening and recovered the weapon.

The two men - aged 34 and 38 - were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

They were questioned at Crumlin Garda Station.

Gardaí say the two men have now been charged in connection with the incident.

They are due to appear in court tomorrow morning.
