Cool, fresh and rather breezy today. Good sunny spells through the morning, but fairly widespread heavy showers moving in from the Atlantic during the day too, merging to longer spells of rain locally. Some of showers will be thundery and of hail, with even some sleet or snow possible on higher ground further west.
Highest temperatures of only 7 to 9 degrees Celsius, in a moderate to fresh southwesterly wind.
Long clear spells tonight but a few heavy, possibly thundery showers too, most of which will affect Atlantic coastal counties. A sharp frost will develop as westerly winds fall off light, along with some mist and fog patches.
Cold, with lowest temperatures of -2 and +1 degrees Celsius.
