A Dublin Fire Brigade unit got a call of a different kind on Sunday night.
The team from Phibsboro were called to help a swan at around 9.00pm.
The bird was at Binn's Bridge in distress.

The fire brigade say the swan became trapped in a lock and the Kildare Animal Foundation had requested their assistance.
It is believed the swan got into difficulty after not having enough space to take off.

The bird is being assessed and looked after by the Kildare Animal Foundation.
