The owner of British fashionretailer Topshop and Topman is to open a new flagship store in Dublin.

The Arcadia Group has agreed a deal with Savills and the Jervis Shopping Centre to operate the new 20,000 square foot shop.

The deal represents the first new flagship store for the Arcadia Group in recent years, while property group Savills describe the deal as a 'major retail coup for Dublin'.

Set to open in summer 2017, the store will occupy a unit over the ground and upper ground levels at the shopping centre.

The Arcadia Group began expansion into Ireland in the late 1990s. Since then, they have opened a number of units in numerous towns and cities throughout the country.

The Jervis Shopping Centre has been trading for 20 years, and has more than 60 retail units and 750 car parking spaces.

It already features a number of fashion retailers - including Stradivarius, Bershka, Forever 21 and New Look.

Darragh Cronin of Savills said: "This letting not only improves the consumer offer and tenant mix but have added significantly to the overall rent and hence capital value of the scheme.

"Arcadia's choice of Ireland and, in turn, Jervis, as its first new flagship store in recent years is an excellent vote of confidence for the Irish retail sector and confirms the resiliency of the Irish retail market.

"We will now be launching some of the neighbouring retail units on the ground floor which we are confident will lead to further exciting announcements."
