The broadcaster and columnist told George about the depth of ill-feeling in rural Ireland towards the wind turbine and pylon plans.
Fine Gael’s Chief Whip Regina Doherty has suggested that the issue around pylons is more important than her Cabinet job.
It’s after An Bord Pleanála approved permission for 299 pylons to be built across Cavan, Meath and Monaghan, something which she said she was 'bitterly disappointed' about.
Tom McGurk joined George on High Noon today, and he told George about the many meetings that schools and communities are holding in rural Ireland, such is the feeling towards the plans.
He called the decision 'ridiculous', while telling George that those who don't frequent rural Ireland don't realise just how much of an issue this is.
