Ticketmaster will begin to sell tickets via Facebook from the end of the month. The social network will earn an affiliate fee for every ticket sold through their site.

This move has been welcomed by Facebook users and comes following research which found that consumers spend a large portion of their time on particular apps whilst on the smartphones, with Facebook ranking high. This integration could be the first of many as brands seek to get their product in front of the eyes of the consumer.

Facebook has been working to make it easier for businesses to engage with customers on the platform. A spokesperson for the brand told Fortune:

"Millions of people on Facebook connect with their favorite bands, artists and causes to find out about events happening in their community. We’ve heard feedback from venues and artists that Facebook is an important platform for them to update and connect with fans. We’re excited to help partners like Ticketmaster sell more tickets via Facebook and to make ticket purchasing easier and faster for people."

Facebook's annual developer conference, F8, kicks off in San Francisco today and further announcements are expected.
