Early frost will clear this morning. It will be cold, bright and breezy today, with blustery northwest winds.
There will be widespread heavy and locally thundery showers for a time, some turning wintry, especially over northern and north-western areas - but less showery over Munster and Leinster later today.
Top temperatures 5C to 9C degrees.
It will be very cold tonight. Frost will set in soon after dark, becoming severe as the night progresses, with icy roads. There will be some long dry, clear spells, but showers also - these mainly in Atlantic coastal counties, where some will be wintry.
Lowest temperatures 0C to -3C degrees.
