Today

Damp and breezy at first today, but any rain or drizzle will gradually clear southeastwards later this morning.

A bright, fresh day with sunny spells will follow, with just a few light showers affecting western parts of Ulster and Connacht.

Chilly, with afternoon highs just 7 to 9 degrees in mostly moderate west to northwest winds.

Tonight

Largely dry tonight apart from the odd coastal shower in the northwest.

Many parts will have long clear spells, but it will become cloudier in western and northern counties overnight.

Minimum temperatures of -2 to +3 degrees, but holding at 4 to 6 degrees near the Atlantic coastal fringes.

A widespread frost will form in the mainly light winds.
