ABC News reports that the child and his grandmother were at a stop sign when the suspected shooter became angry that the grandmother "wasn't moving fast enough," so he exited his vehicle and opened fire.
The boy was struck by bullets at least once, but the grandmother was not struck. She drove away and called police outside a JC Penney at a nearby shopping mall.
The boy was transported to a hospital where he died.
