Three men have appeared in court in Tullamore charged with the murder of Thomas 'Toddy' Dooley (64) in Edenderry, Co Offaly earlier this year.

The father of three was found dead at his home in Sister Senan Court on the 16th of February.

The three men were arrested this morning in Offaly, Kildare and Dublin.

Tullamore District Court heard today that brothers Sean Davy (20) of 2 Clonmullen Drive, Edenderry and James Davy (23) of 14 Thornhill Meadows in Celbridge made no reply when charged and cautioned this morning at Tullamore garda station.

Detective Sergeant Joe Hughes told the court that when charged and cautioned, Matthew Cummins (20) of 198 Churchview Heights in Edenderry replied "I never touched him."

Judge Catherine Staines remanded all three in custody to Cloverhill Prison to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
