While not all of the votes held in 2016 have resulted in expected or desired outcomes, at least the photographs vying for the title of ‘Best Picture’ at the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards saw the most qualified candidate take the top honours.

The image, taken by Angela Bohlke, sees a fox in Yellowstone National Park diving headfirst into the snowy December terrain and was deemed the funniest in the competition.

The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, now in their second year, are a UK-based photography contest, intended to raise awareness for animal conservation. More than 2,200 people entered the 2016 competition, with Angela Bohlke winning a new camera and a Kenyan safari for two for snapping the graceful leap and face smashing landing of the fox.
