After a hard-fought campaign on both sides, Scotland has rejected independence and voted 'No' in the referendum.
Victories in Glasgow, Dundee and West Dunbartonshire had given the Yes campaign a major boost.
However, they were followed by substantial No victories in Stirling, Aberdeen and Dumfries and Galloway. Fife made the news official.

Following a speech from the First Minister Alex Salmond, David Cameron took to the podium outside Downing Street to make some strong promises to Scotland and the rest of the UK.
