On this Bank Holiday weekend, 'Talking History' will revisit two discussions from weeks past.

First, Patrick will be reflecting on one of his personal favourites, the titanic ‘Citizen Kane.’ This film is ranked among this best of all time. Indeed its director and title star, Orson Welles, sits alongside Hitchcock, Kubric and Chaplain in the pantheon of great filmmakers.

Why is ‘Citizen Kane’ revered and renowned by critics and moviegoers alike? And how did this film change the face of modern cinema?

Don’t forget to tune in this Sunday at 7pm, as 'Talking History' revisits the majestic talent of Orson Welles and ‘Citizen Kane.’

Then, in the second hour, Patrick will be recalling art in a different form and of a different era.

Homer is considered to be the father of western literature. He created two of the most recognisable stories in history: ‘The Illiad’ and ‘The Odyssey’, both of which have shaped and influenced the history of literature.

Despite being authored more than two thousand years ago, the nature of his work still resonates today. His legacy is unquestioned, but what do we truly know about the man who has inspired so many? And why does Homer still loom large in the literary tradition of today?

Listen in to part two of this week’s ‘Best of’ edition, as Patrick and his expert panel delve into these questions and much, much more.
