A 13-year-old boy has been killed in a suspected hit and run incident in Co Derry.

He was knocked down on Newbridge Road in Coleraine last night at around 6.30pm.

Police say the car that struck the teenager - who was from the Coleraine area - failed to stop at the scene.

The vehicle was located in the Magherafelt area later.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail.
