A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on another teenager in Co Tipperary last night.

The victim was found with serious head injuries in the Lakelands area of Tipperary Town at around 10.50pm.

He was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

The arrested boy is being held at Tipperary Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who was in the Lakelands/Roseanna Road areas of the town between 10pm and 11pm last night.
