The Taoiseach is back on Twitter.

After a three year absence from the social media network, Enda Kenny surprised his followers this evening by posting a message.

He said "Twitter, it's been a while... but it's time to talk about the #littlethings"

It's believed he was referring to the Little Things Hub - a social media mental health inititiative.

Enda Kenny first joined twitter in April 2010 but stopped tweeting when he became Taoiseach.

He has just over 20,000 followers.
