A suspect improvised explosive device (IED) has been made safe in Dundalk in County Louth.
An Army Bomb Disposal Team arrived at Aisling Park at around 9pm last night, following a call from gardaí.
A cordon was set up and a number of properties were evacuated.

The scene was declared safe shortly before midnight.
The device has been removed to a secure military installation, where it will be examined.
Evidential material will be handed over to gardaí who are investigating the incident.
