Mayo had the lowest average value for contents
If you live in Wicklow, Meath and Dublin you have the highest value contents in the State.
An AA Insurance analysis has revealed the most expensive areas.
Homeowners in Wicklow insure their contents for an average of €47,960.69 - up from the 2015 average of €46,865.13 for that county.
While the top five counties remained unchanged from 2015, there was a slight dip in the average value of contents insured by homeowners in Meath and Dublin.
The average value for Meath fell by over €1,000 - from €46,298.52 in 2015 to €45,246.85 as of September 2016.
Meanwhile, homeowners in Dublin now insure their contents for an average of €44,865.73 - down slightly from the 2015 average of €44,996.14.
Consumer affairs director with The AA, Conor Faughnan, said: "It is important to make sure that you have your contents valued correctly for insurance.
"People often think the figure is high, but if you are unlucky enough to have a fire or a total loss you would be amazed how much value you have built up over the years and what it would cost to replace it all."
At the other end of the scale, homeowners in Mayo had the lowest average value for contents insured at €36,599.21.
The AA advises householders to think carefully about the value they choose - as both over and under-insuring can be a mistake.
If you pick an amount that is too high, you will pay too much in your premium even though an insurance company will only pay for the value of what you have lost.
While insuring for too little could see an insurance company reduce the payout proportionately even for a smaller claim.
