Following a lengthy battle with a rare form of cancer, Gavin Glynn passed away last night surrounded by his family.
Gavin was battling a rare form of cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma and captured the heart of a nation last year through his family's fundraising programme.
Over €350,000 had been raised to fund the cancer treatment, with the fundraising campaign having gained significant attention through social media.
In July, four-year-old Gavin underwent surgery lasting more than 11 hours in Texas. Surgeons removed two massive tumours from his body without having to remove any of Gavin's organs.
