Ireland fans returning from Euro 2016 in France could face flight disruption today as French Air Traffic controllers take part their 11th strike in recent weeks.

Aer Lingus and Ryanair have each cancelled six flights between France and Ireland while Ryanair has grounded a total of 56 flights across Europe as a result of the industrial action.

Ryanair flights between Dublin and Madrid, Carcassonne and EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg as well as Aer Lingus flights to and from Marseilles, Perpignan and Toulouse have all been cancelled.

The Air-traffic control unions are striking over proposed changes to French labour laws which would affect working arrangements and retirement conditions.

Passengers are being urged to check their airline's website for full details. A full list of affected Ryanair flights across Europe is available here.
