A number of people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle pile up on the M3 Dublin to Cavan Road.
The six car crash happened between Junctions 6 and 7 northbound near Dunshaughlin in County Meath shortly before 4.00pm on Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, two cars crashed into the motorway barriers in the same place on the southbound lane. Earlier reports from AA Roadwatch indicated that sections of the road had remained closed after the incident.

It is believed that there is black ice in the area, and extreme caution is being urged for those who are travelling in that region.
Thankfully, no-one is believed to have been seriously injured in the pileup.
