Shots have been fired at a car in a housing estate in Dublin this evening.

The intended target, a man aged 66, was sitting in the car in Rathbeale Crescent in Swords shortly after 7pm.

A number of shots were fired at him but he escaped injury.

The shooter is believed to have escaped in a black Audi which was later found on fire at the back of Dublin Airport.

No arrests have yet been made.
