Instagram caused a bit of a stir towards the end of last year when it introduced "Stories", a feature so similar to Snapchat's offering, many called it a carbon copy. This week the photo-sharing service announced a new feature that has many fans excited.

Instagram has started to roll out the new feature, which allows users to post up to 10 photos in the one post. This is very handy for those looking to document their events, without having them disappear afterwards.

"With this update, you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember. Now, you can combine up to 10 photos and videos in one post and swipe through to see them all," said a post on Instagram's blog.

When the new update arrives on your phone, you'll notice a new icon that will enable you to select multiple photos and videos. Users can customise the order the photos appear, and select a single caption. This mini-album will appear within one square, but users will be able to flick through.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has already been using the feature, here's how it looks.
