Gardaí in Dublin have arrested seven people in connection with the sale and supply of drugs in the north inner city.

Five adults are to appear in court in connection with the charges later, while one juvenile who was detained will appear before the Children's Court.

A second juvenile will be subject to the Juvenile Diversion programme.

Gardaí say Operation Hesitate - which is ongoing - follows a six week covert operation aimed at identifying people involved in the sale and supply of drugs in a number of areas, particularly the St Mary's Mansion area.

This morning, in addition to the seven arrests made, 0.5 kilos of the drug PVP, cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a car were also seized.

The operation - which involved 60 members of An Garda Síochána- was prompted by feedback from residents who engaged with Community Gardaí.
