Heavy, persistent rain in the southwest will extend northeastwards to all areas this morning. A clearance to scattered showers will follow, some of the showers will be heavy with the risk of thunder. Winds will be mostly light and from a variable direction, however across the south of the country there will be a fresh southwest wind.
Temperatures in the north will range between 15 and 17 degrees while further south temperatures may reach as high as 20 degrees in sunny breaks this afternoon.
Tonight will become mostly dry although showers will continue in the north for a time. Lowest temperatures 11 or 12 degrees with light to moderate westerly breezes.
