The cash was seized from two men travelling separately to Budapest
Revenue officers have seized over €60,000 from two men at Dublin Airport.
In a statement this morning, Revenue said €63,750 was seized after two Romanian men were stopped and questioned following “routine profiling.”
Both of the men – aged in their 30s – were travelling separately and boarding the same early morning flight to Budapest at 06:00am yesterday, Sunday 14th May.
Revenue seized the cash suspecting it to be the proceeds of, or intended for use in, criminal activity.
Judge Anthony Halpin granted a three month detention order at Dublin District Court this morning to allow for further investigation.
