On Monday this week, the Republican Party updated their 2016 Platform with an anti-porn ammendment that declared pornography to be a "public health issue".

The amendment was initially proposed by Mary Forrester, a North Carolina delegate, who drafted it with help from conservative Christian group Concerned Women for America to prevent children from “becoming porn addicts.”

Forrester told Yahoo! News: "It’s such an insidious epidemic and there are no rules for our children. [...] It seems to be for young people, they do not have the discernment and so they become addicted before they have the maturity to understand the consequences."

Part of the amendment stated that “Pornography, with his harmful effects, especially on children, has become a public health crisis that is destroying the life of millions. We encourage states to continue to fight this public menace and pledge our commitment to children’s safety and well-being.”

When the amendment was presented before the Republican Party, it was voted through unanimously.

In reaction to this, major online porn website xHamster released the viewing statistics for all of the Red States in America.

xHamster, who previously blocked their website in North Carolina when they passed an anti-LGBT law in the state, revealed that Texas is the second largest consumer of their pornography in the country.

The amendments also included an attempt to get the Supreme Court to overturn their decision last year in finding a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, as the platform has also declared that marriage is between a man and a woman.

Trump is expected to accept the Republican party platform at next week's full convention.
