Gardai are renewing their appeal for information after a pedestrian in his 20s died following a collision in County Meath last week.

It happened on the Rathmolyon to Summerhill Road on Thursday February 16th.

The man - who was found just before 9pm at the side of the road after being struck by a vehicle - was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out.

Gardai say it has been established that the car involved is as a dark green Ford Mondeo saloon - manufactured between 2001 and 2007.

Anyone with witnessed the car in the Summerhill area or has been requested to repair a similar vehicle (with damage to the front of the car) is asked to contact Trim Garda Station on 046-948-1540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111, or any Garda Station.
