The Primary Care Partnership has also called for a new model for care in Ireland.

GPs also called for greater political support.

Dr Andrew Jordan is chairman of the National Association of General Practitioners.

Dr Liam Glynn, chair of the No Doctor No Village Campaign, says that supporting primary care has huge benefits for the rest of the system.

The Primary Care Partnership say increased investment will lead to better healthcare and ease pressure on hospitals.
