A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a woman was knocked down and killed in West Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
Two women - both in their 40s - were struck by a car on Hartstown Road in Clonsilla at around 2.30am this morning.
They were taken to Connolly Hospital, where one of the women was pronounced dead.
The second woman remains in a serious condition.
Three people who were in the car were uninjured.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on Hartstown Road on suspicion of drink driving and was taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station.
The man was later charged at the station and released to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court later this month.
The road has now reopened following an examination of the scene and the Coroner has been notified.
