The show will provide in-depth analysis on issues, and feature live interviews in front of a studio audience.

The broadcaster says original drama and documentaries will continue, with six new productions premiering this autumn.

Comedian Deirdre O'Kane and 'Mrs Brown's Boys' star Rory Cowan will be the narrators behind an Irish version of 'Gogglebox' when it airs later this month.

While the drama 'Red Rock' will move to Monday nights, returning on Monday September 12th.

Also from September 'Tonight with Vincent Browne' will air at an earlier time of 10.30pm.

Showbiz show 'Xposé' will also return in a newly-formatted slot. The new presenter line-up will consist of Karen Koster, Glenda Gilson, Cassie Stokes and Ruth O’Neill.

'Living With Lucy' is back as Lucy Kennedy heads off to share space, life and conversation with celebrities in their own homes.

And economist David McWilliams will host business show, 'Agenda', on Sunday afternoons.

TV3 Group managing director Pat Kiely said: "This new schedule also sees a major step up in our current affairs output.

"Pat Kenny is one of the best current affairs broadcasters in these islands. I am also delighted to welcome David McWilliams who is bringing back a big hit from our early days."
