Concern is mounting about a man missing from county Derry.

56-year-old John Thompson hasn't been seen since yesterday afternoon in the Portstewart area and his family are becoming increasingly concerned for his whereabouts.

He's described as being 5ft 10" tall, with dark brown hair. When last seen he was wearing blue 3/4 length shorts and a red raincoat.

It is believed that John may have had a bicycle with his at the time he went missing.

Police are appealing for John or anyone who may know of his whereabouts to contact officers in Coleraine on +4428 9065 0222.
