The New York Times and Spotify have come together to offer a new subscription package.

For $5 a week, new Times All Access subscribers will also receive a complimentary Spotify Premium subscription. It requires a one-year commitment, and is available only to US residents who do not currently pay for either The Timesor Spotify.

In a press release, Meredith Kopit Levien, executive vice president and chief revenue officer of the New York Times Company said, “News and music have gone hand-in-hand since the early days of radio, and because personalisation and curation are central to what both The Times and Spotify do so well, we created an experience for Times readers that gives them access to all the news and all the music that they want in one premier subscription."

Spotify frequently partners with other outlets to offer unique services. Last year, Tinder joined with Spotify, enabling users of the dating app to sync their favorite music on their profiles. Earlier this week, Spotify announced a new website with AccuWeather called Climatune. The site creates playlists based on weather and location.
