The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will hear from NAMA chief executive Brendan McDonagh and chairman Frank Daly today on the sale of Project Eagle.

It will be the second time that the PAC has met with the pair regarding the controversy surrounding the Northern Ireland loanbook.

It comes after Mark Neporent, the chief operating officer of eventual loanbook buyer Cerberus, revealed it paid £15 million to lawyers linked to former NAMA adviser Frank Cushnahan for extra information to aid its bid.

Meanwhile, former NAMA official Ronnie Hanna who was arrested last summer by the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) – has "respectfully" declined an invitation to give evidence before the PAC.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) claims that the taxpayer may have lost out on £190m (€223m) in the sale, though NAMA disputes this.

The Committee has also signalled that it is coming towards the end of the public hearings on the report.
