Monday's weather: Dry and sunny, but fog warning in place for the country

Today will be mainly dry and sunny with light winds.

Fog will linger in parts of the midlands and around rivers and lakes, and will be dense in places.

Becoming rather cloudy and dull overall later and there will be a little patchy drizzle in the west and southwest.

Temperatures will be between 5 and 7 degrees generally, but higher along the west coast and lower in areas affected by dense fog.


Staying dry overnight, but dull with mist and fog once again.

Temperatures will rise overnight to between 10 and 12 degrees and winds will be light to moderate southerly.

National Weather Warnings

There is a status orange fog warning in place for Ireland.

Met Éireann says dense fog may linger in some parts of the country through much of Monday, giving rise to poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions.
