A man has been injured in a shooting in Dublin.

It's understood it happened in the Moatview area of Coolock just before 8pm.

Gardai say the man is still at the scene and being treated by the emergency services.

His injuries are described as very serious.

Gardaí appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
