A 33 year old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on the Kentstown Road in Navan.
Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses following the collision in Co. Meath.
The crash took place at approximately 4.35am this morning. Gardaí and Emergency Services were later called to the scene.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. His condition is understood to be serious. The driver of the car was said to be uninjured.
The scene of the collision is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.
