Gardaí say a man whose body was found on Bray Beach in March has been identified.

The man was successfully identified following an appeal and with assistance from the media and the public.

Gardaí say this resulted in a family member coming forward and successful identification after DNA testing.

The man was in his early 40s, with blue eyes, of very slim build, and with dark brown hair greying around the temple.

A detailed description, and photos, of his clothes were also released.

He was found with a brown and green camouflage rucksack and a pair of glasses.
