Man dies following Louth collision

Gardaí are investigating after a man died in a single vehicle road collision.

It happened on the Dundalk to Castleblaney road, three miles outside Dundalk at Rathmore, at around 12.20am Sunday morning.

The car crashed into a wall - the 26-year-old man was the sole occupant in the car.

He was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Louth County Hospital.

The road has been closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and local diversions are in place.
