Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a two-car crash in Co Meath.

It happened at Boynabought, Kilmainhamwood in Kells at around 8.00pm on Friday.

The 24-year-old passenger in one of the cars died, while the male driver (24) and the male driver of the other vehicle were both taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

No other people were involved in the incident.

The road has been closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
