A man has died after the car he was driving struck a concrete wall in Carlow.
Gardaí say the single vehicle fatal road traffic crash happened at Cloughna at around 8.30am on Sunday morning.
A male driver aged in his 70s and pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the car.
The stretch of road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, but has since re-opened.
The local coroner has also been notified.
